Pixel StarVoice is a local-first astronomy and sound experience built around an interactive pixel planetarium. It converts J2000 right ascension and declination into the sky visible from a chosen time and location, then maps a selected star's brightness, altitude and azimuth to bell-like sound parameters.

Explore the current sky
The app includes an offline catalogue of about 1,800 bright stars, constellation lines, search, observation-time and location controls, plus panoramic, equirectangular and 3D sky projections. Mouse, touch and device-orientation input share the same astronomy model.

Listen and create locally
Selecting a star triggers its short sonic signature while a synthesized ambient layer follows the visible sky. A separate local-sky workspace supports placing, moving, renaming and connecting custom stars with undo and redo. Data and edits remain local; the project does not depend on an account or server.
August 2026 update
The local-sky workspace now uses a versioned document with migration, history and automatic grouping. The current sky can be scanned from left to right into a single synthesized audio preview, while repeated playback replaces the previous preview instead of layering it. Labels stay informative during interaction, and the compact CJK interface was rechecked across desktop and mobile Web/PWA viewports.
The current implementation uses Godot 4.7, GDScript and the GL Compatibility renderer, with desktop and Web builds. Project content and screenshots were last verified on 12 August 2026.
